Thursday afternoon it looked like rain, UC’s football clinic for women was in jeopardy. Just like the season was in jeopardy last year when the starting quarterback went down. When in doubt….go with plan B. Instead of “next man in”…Thursday it was “let’s just go in”. Not even the threat of rain could stand in the way of UC’s Football 101, a clinic for women. A group nearing 200 split up into teams that toured the facilities, met with coaches, and hit the classroom. Bearcat Sports Page was on hand to capture the moment, and there were many of them.
The 2008 version of football 101 donated over $5,000 to breast caner research. Totals from this years event have not been tallied but hopes are that the amount donated will increase this year, just like the popularity of the event has among tri-state women.
